Jeannine A. Cook is a writer, bookseller, designer, and traveler. She is the founder of Harriett's Bookshop in Philadelphia, Ida's Bookshop in South Jersey, and Josephine's, a literary installation in Paris.

Cook is the author of the novel It's Me They Follow and the memoir Shut Up & Read: A Memoir from Harriett's Bookshop (Amistad/HarperCollins). Her writing has been featured or reviewed by Publishers Weekly, Kirkus Reviews, Shelf Awareness, Booklist, The Bookseller, Book Riot, Essence, BET, Ms. Magazine, and The Philadelphia Inquirer, among others. Her work and bookshops have been featured by The New York Times, Oprah Daily, Vogue, The Today Show, MSNBC, and The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Cook's literary installations and public humanities projects have been presented at Princeton University, Galerie Au Médicis in Paris, Philadelphia International Airport, and Camden FireWorks. She has interviewed and hosted notable writers and cultural figures including Michelle Obama, Alice Walker, Sonia Sanchez, Nikole Hannah-Jones, Ibram X. Kendi, Isabel Wilkerson, and Will Smith.
