Karin is building interdisciplinary and cross sector opportunities for IP, by producing work that spans feature films, nonfiction, video games, publishing, and artwork. Karin's producing work includes the Cannes Official Selection MAN IN BLACK, the Iranian-American feature and Sundance Audience Award winner CIRCUMSTANCE, the Haitian- American feature and Tribeca Best Director winner STONES IN THE SUN, the Tribeca Best Actress winner THE EXPLODING GIRL, the Humanitas Prize winner THE MOTEL, the winner of 35 festival awards ROBOT STORIES, artwork for major institutions, and groundbreaking interactive work for public media
Karin is the Founder & CEO of Art & Action Productions— a global boutique production company. Karin is the Co-Founder & President of dGenerate Films— the leading North American distributor of over 100 visionary films from mainland China and Hong Kong. Karin is the Founder & Director of the Nevada City Film Festival Residency— the first artist residency designed for independent producers. Karin is a Co-Founder of Distribution Advocates— a collective advocating for equity and transparency in film distribution.
Karin also works as a strategist and advises private, public, and nonprofit entities on organizational, production, and distribution strategy.
Recent roles include founding executive producer at MasterClass, partner at Louverture Films, Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School’s Shorenstein Center, and Creator & Director of the Center for Asian American Media Fellowship.
Recent keynotes include the 2023 Color Congress Distribution Keynote speaker and the 2022 Sundance Producers Keynote speaker.
