Born and raised in an immigrant family, KLS is a lifelong southerner currently farming oysters and writing on the Gulf Coast. Trained as a physicist, they once practiced law. They wrote Begin the World Over (AK Press, Emergent Strategy Series), a counterfactual novel about the white founders' greatest fear—that Black revolutionaries and Indigenous nations would unite to dismantle the early United States—coming true.
