Tyeena Carter is the founder of Cultivating Culture, a grassroots organization in Slidell, Louisiana dedicated to food sovereignty, equity, and education through Afro-Indigenous and regenerative gardening practices. Since 2022, she has initiated a community garden, a seed library, and a community fridge to expand access to fresh food and gardening knowledge in her community.

As a single mother and community leader, she believes in the power of gardening to heal, connect, and empower. Through Cultivating Culture, she continues to create innovative programs that honor ancestry, foster sustainability, and ensure that everyone has the tools and resources needed to thrive.
